San Servolo

San Servolo is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, to the southeast of San Giorgio Maggiore, only 10 minutes away from the city of Venice.

The island of San Servolo can host conferences and training courses which concern research, study, and training in scientific and cultural fields. The conference centre has 11 conference rooms offering space up to 600 delegates. Internal and External areas are also available for the organisation of catering services, banqueting and coffee break.

San Servolo Servizi offers a reception service exclusively for activities related to conferences or study, research and training; for this it does not offer a hotel service. The reception and welcome service is available every day of the year. A safety deposit box service is also available. The residential and study centre is divided in six buildings situated in the park offering 193 bedrooms for a total of 319 beds. Most probably not all the conference participants will have the chance to book a room in the island, early booking will be necessary for rising up your chances to sleep at the conference site. A list of other hotels and tourism facilities conventioned with the Venice Province Administration and the conference organisation will be available soon, all located in the city of Venice and close to the ferryboat stop to San Servolo.

Guests of the island may use the following services: bar; small general store; refectory; banqueting, catering and coffee break services; daily collection of post; ATM cash machine, emission of train and air tickets, sale of boat tickets (ACTV). For a cost of € 5.00 the San Servolo Card can be purchased at reception. The card is valid for a year and offers guests of the island, in addition to free access to the internet in their rooms - a series of advantages throughout Venice (discount prices in museums, exhibitions, theatres, cinemas, foundations, restaurants and shops etc.).

From Venice city centre

The island is easily reached with the public transport system of ACTV using line 20 from San Zaccaria, monument stop (it may takes 10 minutes).

From Marco Polo Airport

The city centre is easily reached from the airport using public transport either on land or using the navigation system.
Alilaguna is the boat system which connects the airport with San Marco; from San Marco you then make your way to the San Zaccaria boat stop to take line 20 to San Servolo.
ATVO is the bus which runs from 9am to midnight and which connects the airport (from outside the arrivals area) to Piazzale Roma in about 20 minutes.
ACTV – line 5 bus 5
This public bus service connects the airport with Piazzale Roma in about 25 minutes.

By Car

Should you arrive by car there is ample parking in Piazzale Roma, Garage Comunale or Garage San Marco or at Tronchetto Park ; from Tronchetto a vaporetto water bus service is available to San Marco.

From Piazzale Roma to San Servolo

Public water bus no.1, no. 51, no. 41, or no. 61 in Lido direction "Lido", getting off at San Zaccaria. From here make your way to the S.Zaccaria – Monument stop to take line 20 for San Servolo (it may takes 10 minutes).

From the Train Station to San Servolo

Public water bus no1, no51 and no82, in lido direction, getting off at San Zaccaria. From here make your way to the S.Zaccaria – Monument stop to take line 20 for San Servolo (it may takes 10 minutes).
